Live@edu is an ultimate suite of applications - mobile, desktop and web-based -to help you collaborate on campus, and create a community that lasts a lifetime.Microsoft Live@edu provides hosted email, calendars, online workspaces, mobilealerts, document sharing, instant messaging, blogs, videoconferencing, mobile accessand address books, all accessible on Windows, Mac, Linux and mobile devices.
Current students will see increases in the amounts of email and file storage space, but otherwise, the changes will be minimal. Voluntary transitions to Live@edu will be available to current students beginning Monday, May 4, 2009; a mass transition of all remaining mailboxes will begin on Monday, June 1, 2009 and occur throughout the month.
New student accounts will be set up in Live@edu beginning in Fall 2009, so new students will not see any “changes” to their email system.
The cost of the new service is simply the time required to implement it and the dedicated efforts of Missouri State University’s Computer Services department.
If you already have a Missouri State student email account, you will not be issued a new one. You will need to convert your current account over to the new interface; instructions for activating your account will be provided in coming weeks. Keep an eye out for announcements!

Yes. Live@edu is deployed internationally and supports 15 languages via the web.
With Microsoft Outlook Live, your inbox will hold 10 GB of your stuff, as opposed to only 50 MB with Bearmail — that’s like having the storage space of 200 Bearmail accounts! And if you have more than one email account, and most of us do, you can sync Microsoft Outlook Live to receive all your emails in one convenient location.
Like a bigger version of the web server and shared drive service currently available to all students, Windows Live SkyDrive offers 5 GB of password-protected online storage space that can be accessed from any computer. With Skydrive, you can create private, shared, and public folders, giving you lots of options for how you want to share (or not!) your files.
With Office Live Workspace, you no longer need to worry about carrying your flash drive or sending yourself documents as email attachments. Office Live Workspace provides storage of up to 500 MB, which is equivalent to 1,000 average-sized Microsoft Office documents. Individual documents can be as large as 25 MB.
Chances are good you have at least one class requiring a group project this semester. Make your collaboration easier by using Microsoft SharedView beta to share your desktop with up to 15 users while editing a document in real time or delivering a presentation.
If you have a cell phone with wireless capability, you can sync it with Live@edu to always stay connected.
